Poland and the Baltics Defense and Security

We have a pleasure to invite you to our next program. This time we will discuss about defense and security in Poland and the Baltics.

As part of the debate, two experts spoke in the field of defense and security of Poland and the Baltics states. The security issues of these countries are related in terms of, for example, strategic or close proximity to Russia.

During the online debate you may hear:

1. Maxime LEBRUN, Deputy Director – Research & Analysis

The European Centre of Excellence for Countering Hybrid Threats
Prior to taking up his post at the Centre, Maxime worked at the Baltic Defence College in Tartu as a Lecturer in War and Conflict Studies and as Acting Department Director. During that time, he was also a Non-Resident Research Fellow at the International Centre for Defence and Security.
Maxime holds a master’s degree in International Relations from Sciences Po Lyon with a specialization in strategic, military and security studies from Sciences Po Aix-en-Provence.

2. Eoin MCNAMARA, PhD researcher, University of Tartu, Estonia

He is a PhD researcher at the University of Tartu in Estonia where he taught extensively in International Relations at Tartu’s Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies between 2013 and 2020. His main research interests include: security studies; transatlantic relations; NATO; Nordic-Baltic security; and the transformation war. His publications have featured in the NATO Review, the Revue Militaire Suisse, the Defence Forces Review and Irish Studies in International Affairs and in edited volumes published by Routledge and Palgrave MacMillan.
His television, radio and newspaper commentary on security, defence and foreign policy has featured on the BBC, in the New York Times and in the Irish Times among other outlets
internationally. He has previously been awarded visiting research fellowships at the Centre for War Studies (CWS), University of Southern Denmark (2020); and at the Institute of International Relations (IIR) in Prague, Czechia (2019)

3. Mr Kacper KITA, Expert on French politics, Nowy Ład
Analyst, publicist, member of the editorial board of the Nowy Lad portal (http://nlad.pl). Observer of international politics, especially French, Middle Eastern and American politics. The author of the only Polish (the only non-French) biography of Éric Zemmour and biographical essays, among others, on Marine Le Pen, Charles de Gaulle and Benjamin Netanyahu.
