In the resolution approved on November 13, it was assessed that the reform of the judiciary and penal code could threaten the struggle with corruption. 473 MPs voted for, 151voted against and 40 abstained.
Romania Is to Buy More Patriot Missile Systems from the USA
Minister of Defence Mihai Fifor said that Romania had already provided funds for the U.S. government for the purchase of three additional Patriot missile systems. This is a continuation of purchases from the previous year. In July 2017, the U.S. Department of State agreed to give Romania seven systems for 3.9 billion dollars.

Jean-Claude Juncker warned that Romania’s accession to the Schengen zone depended on respecting the rule of law by this country. President Klaus Iohannis referred to these words almost immediately saying that the unity of the European Union was based on common values which helped the Union to handle previous crises.
Venice Commission Report: changes in law should be reassessed
The PSD-ALDE ruling coalition (the Social Democratic Party and the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats) has been trying to push through a number of law changes for over a year and a half. The Venice Commission suggested that they be reviewed and implemented in accordance with the recommendations of the Constitutional Court of Romania.

Romania after the referendum on the same-sex marriage

New school year with Romanian-Hungarian conflict in the background
Two years ago, one of Hungarian politicians called the actions of the Romanian government the attack on the Catholic Church, the Hungarian minority, its families and children.
