The officials, Jacek Czaputowicz and Jaroslav Nad, discussed reinforcing cooperation within NATO and developing joint projects under the EU’s Common Security and Defence Policy. The ministers stressed the need for further intense development of mutually beneficial cooperation between Poland and Slovakia, both in the political and military dimension.

It was the second meeting between Minister Jacek Czaputowicz and a top Slovak politician held recently, following the Tuesday meeting in Wadowice. There, the chief of Polish diplomacy met with the Visegrad Group foreign ministers, including his Slovak counterpart Ivan Korčok, who accompanied Minister Czaputowicz on a visit to the NATO Counterintelligence Centre of Excellence in Krakow.

Polish Foreign Minister also stated that both countries are tied by close regional security cooperation, particularly within the Bucharest Nine format. He added that Poland and Slovakia share similar views on challenges facing NATO’s eastern flank, and declare strong commitment to maintaining close transatlantic relations.
