"The perception of Poland as a haven of stability gained particular momentum in the aftermath of the post-Covid upheaval that reshaped the emotional climate across developed societies. As countries gradually emerged from lockdowns, the long-anticipated return to pre-pandemic normality did not materialise. Instead, a pervasive pessimism increasingly defined people’s outlook on the future. In many Western societies, this sense of fear and uncertainty has been compounded by a series of overlapping crises, akin to the four horsemen of the apocalypse, that steadily erode once stable social foundations..."
